Prioritizing suitable locations for underground dam construction in south-east of Bushehr Province

The solutions to deal with the water crisis are summarized into two strategies for managing resources and extraction of new sources water. In Iran, due geographical climatic conditions, management has a high priority. One methods control store in wet periods using dry is construction underground dams. most important problem development creation dams complexity determining suitable areas study area been confronted critical condition improper temporal spatial distribution rainfall, uncontrolled abstraction groundwater, drop groundwater level interference saline fresh Therefore, can be practical solution prevent levels from falling, land use change, gradual salinity. present was conducted find Boolean logic priority dam sites MCDM including AHP, ANP, VIKOR, TOPSIS ELECTRE III four counties Bushehr, Tangestan, Dashti, Jam southern Iran. results obtained by showed that 305 km2 studied site potential construction. next step, according Google Earth images based on different indices axial length, reservoir, lithology distance village roads, 23 axes were identified afterward, extensive field surveys. Among these axes, 6 locations as suitable. To prioritize six areas, models used. Finally, have ranks 1–6 constructing Based rank Copeland method, Zayer Abbasi Faghih Hasenan achieved first last (sixth) priority, respectively.
